TNC, consisting of Gabbi, Armel, Kpii, Tims and stand-in, Whitemon, came into the match after placing second in the group stage.On the other hand, Among Us, with a new roster of remaining members Abed and Kuku, along with new members InYourdreaM, Xepher and former TNC captain, March, barely edged into the upper bracket after winning a tiebreaker against BOOM Esports.
Being favourites, TNC was expected to handle Among Us in a 3 game series as their new roster seemed to be worse. However, that was not the case as Among Us won the match 2-1, showing that the kings of SEA are, once again, without their flaws
Game 1 was all Among Us as they outpaced TNC with Abed’s Ember Spirit wreaking havoc on TNC’s backlines and the classic IO and Gyro combination proving to be too much for TNC to handle, ending in less than 40 minutes and giving Among Us a 1-0 lead.
TNC made sure to strike back in game 2, winning the game as Gabbi’s sven cleaved his way through Among Us after almost giving up their lead in the latter end of the game. In addition, Armel made sure that TNC would be able to snowball early on as his Queen Of Pain got off to an amazing start and snowballed, giving Sven the space he needed to deliver the finishing blow after grueling 55 minutes.
Expectations were high for the final game between these two top-tier teams to be the most exciting yet.
And it did not disappoint.
Game 3 started off in favour of TNC as their cores outfarmed Among Us exponentially with the help of Doom’s devour and Terrorblade’s illusions. However constant errors from TNC enabled Among Us to win key fights and Abed’s Void Spirit Aghs as well as Spectre’s Haunt caused chaos for TNC, letting Among Us slowly run away with the game, amassing a gold lead of up to 36k. However, TNC was not about to fold just yet.
With the help of double divine rapiers from Gabbi’s Terrorblade, TNC managed to hold their base from the constant barrage of attacks by Among Us. Among Us had no answer to killing the Terrorblade and it seemed like TNC would be able to slowly grind out a win if it continued. In the end, Among Us managed to creep around the terrorblade and kill all 4 other heroes and end the game, kiting the terrorblade around his own base, rendering him useless and ending the game after almost 70 minutes in what will be a memorable game 3.
TNC now falls to the lower bracket, facing elimination against fellow Pinoy team Neon Esports while Among Us Advances on to the Upper Bracket finals to face Motivate.Trust Gaming in hopes of winning the DOTA summit 13 online.
